Like most of Monster's headphones, the Solo HDs comprise of the ControlTalk characteristic. Within the time I've been testing these I've listened to a wide range of tunes from hard rock to hip-hop to Broadway musicals (don't judge!) to quick listening. Unlike the DiddyBeats and Woman Gaga Heartbeats, the Beats Solo seem excellent across the musical spectrum. Up near where the cord connects to the headphones is actually a smaller controller that facilitates playback manage plus a mic for hands-free calling.
